TL;DR

How HubSpot Credits work (the timeline)

September 2024 (Inbound)
Breeze AI launches with per-product credit pools.
At Inbound 2024, HubSpot launched the Breeze AI agent suite — Prospecting Agent, Customer Agent (formerly Service Agent), Content Agent, Social Agent, Intelligence (the productized Clearbit acquisition). Each agent had its own credit pool initially, forcing teams to over-provision per agent.
June 2025
Credits unified into one pool.
HubSpot merged every Breeze credit type into the unified HubSpot Credits system. One pool, allocated across the agent suite at the customer's discretion. Pricing standardized: $45/100, $150/1K, $700/10K. Burn more on enrichment one quarter, more on prospecting the next — same budget, same SKU.
April 2026
Outcome pricing pivot for Prospecting + Customer.
HubSpot pivoted Prospecting Agent to $1 per qualified lead and Customer Agent to $0.50 per resolved conversation. Same underlying credit pool (100 credits / 50 credits per outcome), but reporting + billing now surfaces the outcome metric. This made budgeting much cleaner for outbound + service motions where lead/resolution volume is the actual KPI.

Per-agent breakdown

Breeze Prospecting Agent — $1 per qualified lead (outcome priced)

HubSpot's AI SDR — researches accounts, drafts personalized outreach, executes sequences, qualifies leads inside the HubSpot workspace. As of April 2026, pricing is outcome-based: $1 per qualified lead (100 credits), 28-day trial. The right shape when you're already on Sales Hub Starter+ and want autonomous prospecting without stitching Clay + Apollo + Outreach (three vendors at $200-$400/user/mo). Caps out vs Clay for power-data depth and vs human SDRs for complex multi-thread deals. Try Breeze Prospecting Agent →

Breeze Customer Agent — $0.50 per resolved conversation (outcome priced)

HubSpot's AI customer service agent — resolves inbound conversations across email, chat, WhatsApp, SMS, and voice (beta) inside Service Hub. Outcome-priced at $0.50 per resolved conversation (50 credits) across 9 channels. The cleanest math in the suite — undercuts Intercom Fin ($0.99) and Zendesk AI ($1.00+) on the same channel coverage. Best fit when you're on Service Hub Pro+ and want AI-first customer service without standing up a parallel Intercom or Zendesk stack. Try Breeze Customer Agent →

Breeze Content Agent — credit priced

HubSpot's AI content agent — drafts blog posts, landing pages, case studies, and email variants inside Content Hub. Credit-priced (consumption varies by length + complexity), bundled with Content Hub Pro+. The wedge over standalone Jasper / Copy.ai: brand voice + buyer-persona + product context pulled from the HubSpot portal automatically, so every draft reflects your real product names and customer stories. Caps out vs Jasper for brand-governance depth and vs Copy.ai for cold-outbound shape. Try Breeze Content Agent →

Breeze Intelligence — credit priced (~1 credit / enrichment)

HubSpot's data + enrichment layer — the productized home of the Clearbit acquisition. ~1 credit per contact / company enrichment, more for advanced firmographic + technographic + intent signals. Native form shortening with progressive profiling + auto-enrichment rules on contact / company creation. The natural successor for any Clearbit refugee already on HubSpot — keeps the data graph, folds delivery into the portal. Breeze Social Agent — credit priced

HubSpot's AI social media agent — generates social posts tied to your content calendar, schedules across channels, monitors engagement. Credit-priced per post + scheduling action. Bundled with Marketing Hub Pro/Enterprise. English-only as of spring 2025 launch. Best fit when you're already running social inside HubSpot Marketing Hub and want AI drafting without a separate Buffer / Hootsuite layer. Explore Breeze Social →

Breeze Data Agent — credit priced

HubSpot's autonomous data steward — powers Smart Properties (auto-populated CRM fields), Smart Actions (next-best-action recommendations on records), and Smart Columns (intelligent column population in lists). Credit-priced per action. Available on any paid Starter+ tier. The wedge: instead of a separate enrichment tool firing into CRM via API, Data Agent acts directly on records with full HubSpot context. Breeze Assistant — free (does not consume credits)

The free conversational AI inside the HubSpot portal — answer questions about your data, draft copy in context, generate ideas. Available at all tiers including Free CRM, no credit consumption. Formerly named Copilot (and before that, ChatSpot). Useful for ad-hoc help, not autonomous workflow execution — for that you need the paid credit-consuming agents above.

Beta agents — Knowledge Base / Company Research / Customer Health

Three additional agents are in beta as of 2026 — Knowledge Base Agent (Service Hub Pro+, auto-answers from your help center docs), Company Research Agent (Pro+, deep account research feeding deal records), Customer Health Agent (Pro+, predictive account-health signals for CSMs). Pricing not yet finalized but expected to land on the same credit-based model. Worth piloting if you're on Pro+ and have access during beta.

Outcome pricing vs credit pricing — what changed in April 2026

Before April 2026: every Breeze agent action burned credits at varying rates with no outcome reporting. After: Prospecting Agent ($1/qualified lead) and Customer Agent ($0.50/resolution) bill on outcomes while still drawing from the same credit pool (100 / 50 credits per outcome). The reason matters: for outbound + service motions, the credit-per-action model was hard to forecast — you paid per agent activity (research + draft + send) regardless of whether it converted. Outcome pricing aligns the cost with what RevOps actually tracks (qualified leads, resolutions).

The other agents (Content, Social, Data, Intelligence, beta agents) stayed credit-priced because their outputs don't map cleanly to an "outcome" — a content draft isn't a closed loop, an enrichment isn't a conversion event. Credit pricing remains the right shape for those.

FAQ

What are HubSpot Credits?
HubSpot Credits are the unified currency that powers AI features and certain add-on services across the HubSpot portal — Breeze AI agents (Content, Social, Data, Knowledge Base, Company Research), Breeze Intelligence enrichment + form shortening + intent signals, and outcome-priced agents (Prospecting, Customer) all draw from the same credit pool as of June 2025. Pricing ladder: $45/mo per 100 credits, $150 per 1,000, $700 per 10,000, with larger packs negotiated for enterprise volume. Credits do not roll over month-to-month — unused credits expire at the end of the billing cycle.
Which Breeze agents are outcome-priced vs credit-priced?
Two agents pivoted to outcome-based pricing in April 2026: Breeze Prospecting Agent at $1 per qualified lead (100 credits), and Breeze Customer Agent at $0.50 per resolved conversation (50 credits) across 9 channels including email, chat, WhatsApp, SMS, and voice (beta). Everything else stays on credit-based pricing — Content Agent (per draft), Social Agent (per post), Data Agent (per Smart Property action), Intelligence (per enrichment), Knowledge Base Agent + Company Research Agent + Customer Health Agent (still in beta). Breeze Assistant (formerly Copilot, formerly ChatSpot) is free at all tiers and doesn't consume credits.
How many credits does each agent action actually cost?
Outcome-priced (April 2026 pivot): Breeze Prospecting Agent burns 100 credits per qualified lead ($1 effective rate); Breeze Customer Agent burns 50 credits per resolved conversation ($0.50 effective rate). Credit-priced: Breeze Intelligence runs ~1 credit per contact / company enrichment, more for advanced firmographic + technographic + intent signal pulls; Breeze Data Agent burns credits per Smart Property action, Smart Action firing, and Smart Column population; Breeze Content Agent and Social Agent are credit-based with consumption varying by length + complexity. The cleanest forecast move: start at the 1K-credit tier ($150/mo) for one billing cycle, watch the burn-down report, then right-size up to 10K ($700/mo) or down to 100 ($45/mo).
How do I forecast my Breeze budget?
Three-step model. (1) Pick the agents that match your bottleneck — Prospecting for outbound lift, Customer for service deflection, Content for marketing throughput, Intelligence for enrichment. (2) Estimate monthly volume — qualified leads, resolved tickets, drafts published, contacts enriched. (3) Map volume to credits: outcome-priced agents (Prospecting + Customer) are predictable at $1 / $0.50 each; credit-priced agents need a 1-cycle test run to calibrate burn rate. Most 10-30 rep B2B SaaS teams land in the 1K-5K credit range ($150-$450/mo) once stabilized. Mid-market teams running multiple agents on volume typically land at the 10K tier ($700/mo).
Can I share credits across agents?
Yes — that's the entire point of the June 2025 unification. Before, each Breeze product had its own credit pool which forced over-provisioning. Now you allocate from one pool across the agent suite. Burn more on enrichment one quarter, more on prospecting the next — same budget. The only meaningful constraint: outcome-priced agents (Prospecting + Customer) deduct from the same pool but at fixed per-outcome rates, so they can drain the pool faster if you're running high volume. Forecast accordingly.
What's the difference between Breeze Assistant (free) and Breeze agents (paid credits)?
Breeze Assistant (formerly Copilot, formerly ChatSpot) is the free conversational AI inside the HubSpot portal — answer questions about your data, draft copy in context, generate ideas. Available at all tiers including Free CRM, no credit consumption. Breeze agents are autonomous AI workers that take action on your data — research and qualify prospects, resolve customer conversations, draft + schedule content, populate Smart Properties, enrich contact records. Agents consume credits because they're doing work, not answering questions. The split is conversational AI (free) vs agentic AI (paid).
Do I need a paid HubSpot tier to use any Breeze features?
Breeze Assistant is free at all tiers including Free CRM. Breeze agents and Breeze Intelligence require a paid Hub at Starter or higher: Prospecting Agent → Sales Hub Starter+, Customer Agent → Service Hub Pro+, Content Agent → Content Hub Pro+, Social Agent → Marketing Hub Pro/Enterprise, Data Agent → any paid Starter+, Intelligence → any paid Starter+. The cheapest entry point to start using credit-based agents is Customer Platform Starter at $15/seat/mo (annual) or $20/seat/mo (monthly), which bundles Starter capabilities across all hubs.
Do credits roll over month-to-month?
No — credits expire at the end of the billing cycle. The implication: under-provisioning costs you missed action; over-provisioning costs you unused credits. The right move is testing one cycle at the 1K-credit tier ($150/mo), watching the burn-down report inside the portal, and adjusting up or down for the next cycle. For predictable workloads (steady inbound enrichment, consistent service volume), the math stabilizes within 2-3 cycles.
